Job Description:
We are recruiting for a Project Manager to lead large-scale industrial decommissioning, hazardous material removal, dismantling/demolition and remediation projects across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. The role requires expertise in working on hazardous sites and involves managing projects from initial planning through to final completion. The successful candidate will work closely with clients and stakeholders, providing expert guidance on decommissioning and demolition strategies and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders and end-users to plan and execute the dismantling, demolition, and remediation of industrial plants.
- Oversee large-scale industrial projects on highly hazardous sites, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Support clients in developing and executing their decommissioning strategies.
- Act as the Owner’s Engineer, reporting directly to the client’s senior management team and providing guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist clients in documenting decommissioning to a defined state.
- Develop multi-level project schedules with stakeholders.
- Produce and manage prequalification processes for supply chain partners.
- Develop detailed scopes of work and manage asbestos and hazardous materials surveys.
- Chair and minute Hazardous Demolition (HazDem) risk review meetings.
- Prepare detailed pre-construction information for inclusion in ITT packages.
- Perform detailed analyses of tender returns and present findings to all stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client and supply chain meetings, from project initiation through to final sign-off.
- On-site management of demolition projects, ensuring work is completed to the highest standards.
- Plan work schedules and processes, ensuring efficient execution.
- Conduct detailed reviews of supply chain partners’ Safe Systems of Work (SSoW), including RAMS, Lifting Plans, and Plans of Work (PoW).
- Manage site staff and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and efficient resource allocation.
- Ensure project completion prioritises EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) standards, while delivering on time and within budget.
- Manage client expectations and maintain effective communication to ensure their needs are met.
- Proactively promote a safety culture of the highest standards within the project team and supply chain.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering, or Project Management. Or Equivalent Professional Experience: A significant amount of practical experience in related fields that demonstrates a deep understanding of industrial decommissioning, dismantling, demolition, and site remediation.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, specifically in industrial projects.
- Proven experience in Project Planning, Cost Management, Quality Management, and Safety Management.
- Extensive knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations, policies, and best practices related to our services.
- Desirable: National Demolition Training Group (United Kingdom) or project locality equivalent certifications
- Desirable: Appointed Person qualification.
- Desirable: Membership in the Institute of Demolition Engineers (IDE).
